Ladder back Jacquard Class - June 11th
Ladder back Jacquard Class - June 11th
Instructor: Sandi Avila
June 11th 2 - 4 pm
This class is designed to teach you the Ladderback Jacquard technique using an
invisible stitch that creates your vertical ladders of non-working yarn on the back of your
work. This technique which was originally used in machine knitting has now been
adapted to use with hand knitting. This method allows you to handle longer floats when
needed and prevents your colors from showing through to the right side. It is perfect for
regular stranded colorwork and intarsia colorwork leaving those bobbins behind.
We have selected a hat for this class that allows you to work with both ladderback and
regular float capture technique.
Intermediate Skills: Comfortable with knit, purl, increase and decrease, and reading
charts. Must have completed at least one stranded colorwork project prior to the class
and have the basic understanding of colorwork in the round.
We have selected two skeins of Malabrigo Rios in contrasting colors for this project.
Enjoy a 10% discount on any items needed for the class including pattern.
Materials needed: 2 skeins of worsted weight yarn, US7 16” Circular knitting needle and stitch markers.
