It all started when…
I was pregnant and wanted to learn to knit cute little baby things for my daughter on the way. My journey started with books from the library, two knitting needles and time. Eventually, I signed up for knitting classes at my local yarn shop and away we go! Down the road, and around the bend, I taught my daughter to knit at age 6. She is quite the crafty person with 3 sweaters under her belt and sewing a boned prom dresses before graduation. I started Fiber LLC in 2019 in a little town in the North Cascades called Twisp, WA. We moved our shop to Bigfork, MT in 2022 and have a great classroom space upstairs in our 100 year old cabin. The cabin was moved from Swan Lake in the 70’s. This is where Fiber is calling home at 7984 Hwy 35 Bigfork, Montana. Stop in for some color therapy!
You will never be bored in the world of fiber. There is so much knowledge to learn, and share as fiber brings folks together at a very basic level. What I love about fiber culture, is that it is a shared tradition in every culture around the world. From Norwegian traditional patterns, to Peruvian hats to Latvian designs to African mud cloth, we all share fiber traditions. Clothing ourselves and making garments goes back to the beginning of time. At Fiber LLC my mission is keeping the Fiber Arts alive, preserving tradition, supporting farmers, and fostering creativity.
