Learn all about short rows

Sandi will lead the class Lindal Sjal shawl pattern.  In this class you will learn all the methods of short rows using a small swatch then we will work through the shawl pattern using the method recommended by the designer.  You will see how the long color changing yarn and the use of short rows will create a fun play with colors.  You will need for this class 1 skein of Berroco Fine (contrast color), 2 skeins of Amitola colored yarn (main color), US 7 40” cable, 24 removable stitch markers (12 dark colored and 12 light colored). Enjoy a 10% discount on all materials needed for the class.  

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner/Intermediate – know knit/purl, increase/decrease, have done some stranded colorwork. Comfortable reading patterns.

Homework: Cast on 405 stitches using long-tail cast-on in the Main Color (variegated yarn) complete the first row placing stitch markers as indicated the left stitch markers will be all in the light colored makers and the right stitch markers will be in the dark colored markers.

Also bring with you a swatch live on the needles in worsted weight yarn, US8 24” cable.  Cast on about 35 stitches and knit in stockinette 1 inch.  We will use this the practice all the methods of short rows.
